Automation is the need of the hour. Statistics say that there are 1,012 robots for every 10,000 workers in Korea. The number in Germany is 429, and in the USA it is 295. Any guess what it is in India?
It is just 8 robots per 10,000 employees. Yes, India is home to the largest number of young men and women. Unfortunately, many of them are moving away from the so-called non-glamorous field of manufacturing. A study says that in about 6–10 years, we may not get any manpower in the component manufacturing industry in India…

Robotic integration and frugal automation
So it is high time for visionary leaders to work on robotic integration, frugal automation and similar initiatives that reduce the effort of operators. Hopefully, this will attract the young ones back to the manufacturing industry.
The scarcity of manpower and the increasing wages of operators will also shorten the ROI of robotic installations. So in the days to come, we are going to see more and more robots employed in machine-tending areas…
